Special Event

Dear Friends:

We have recently been given the opportunity of a lifetime…to help our friend make her dream come true!  Our friend, Dianne Callahan is a 3-time cancer survivor (Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma) who has dedicated her heart and soul to the mission of making a difference for other cancer patients by fundraising for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). To date, Dianne’s team – affectionately named Team I Do – has raised more than $25,000 for LLS and the cutting-edge research it supports.

This year, Dianne is celebrating 10 years of grateful survival (which is a HUGE deal since her doctors weren’t sure she would survive her first fight in 2007) by participating in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2017 Man & Woman of the Year campaign for the Orange County-Inland Empire area. This is a nationwide campaign that happens each spring in LLS chapters across the country. It is a true honor to be nominated – and now is when the hard work begins.

March 19th kicked off the 10-week long campaign, in which every dollar raised counts as a vote.  We are so proud of Dianne and are doing whatever we can to help her become the 2017 Woman of the Year. But so much more importantly, we are helping her to fund vital research into better treatments and CURES so other blood cancer patients will have the chance to reach their own 10-year celebrations.

On behalf of Dianne, we want to personally invite you to join me in the fight against blood cancer and support her 2017 Woman of the Year Campaign. All proceeds from this campaign will benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

You may be wondering, what is that “dream come true” we mentioned at the beginning? The dream is to have a blood cancer research portfolio named in honor of Dianne’s friend and fellow church member, Cheryl Weirs. Cheryl is currently going through an autologous stem cell transplant at City of Hope to fight Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma – a very tough process that Dianne went through herself 5 years ago. Cheryl’s husband, Matt, and her kids, Josie and Evan, need her to get through this fight and come home healthy!

In order to make this dream happen, we need to raise $50,000 during this campaign … simple, right? Of course, not, but together we truly believe we can help Dianne reach this goal!  This year we have moved up our Improv even to May 15th to help her raise funds for this campaign.  We always appreciate the donations and attendance at this annual event.  We hope you can attend.  We have included a flyer for our event with all the details.  If you have any questions, please contact Laurie Clark at 949.582.7770 or lauriec@progressivecm.com.

Thank you for your support,

Without a single doubt Jorge Aldama ( a.k.a. Dj Cooch ) has proven himself to be one of the hardest working performers in the entertainment industry. Equally at home in the dance hall behind the turntables or behind the microphone at a comedy club there seems to be no limit to the talent of this versatile performer.

For over a decade Cooch has been hitting the west coast as a DJ/Remixer. He quickly went from backyard parties to hyping thousands at desert raves and different venues threw out the country Celebrity parties awards shows concerts Universal Citywalk’s New Years Eve Celebration and even his own show for two years on Citywalk known as the Latino Dance Party with the now defunct partnership Cooch and Xavier.

At many of these events Cooch was not only spinning he was also the show host. To the delight of audiences everywhere it came to light that Cooch possesses the rare ability to walk onto any stage pick up a microphone and immediately connect with any audience regardless of age or demographic. He has what is commonly known as the “gift of gab.” This skill in addition to being fluent in English Spanish and French has landed him many gigs as a host such as MTV’S Rock the Vote 2001 with co-host Ashton Kutcher of that 70’s show host and opening act for latino super star Juan Gabriel in concert at Universal Studios Hollywood and many other events such as these throughout the country.

It also led to the discovery of his new found passion: stand-up comedy. After years of countless requests from fans and friends Cooch finally made his comedic debut in 2004 at the Improv in Ontario CA. decimating a full house with a hilarious routine that has audiences and industry insiders buzzing about this “super rookie”. And since then he has been getting big laughs in comedy clubs all over the country.

In the four years that Cooch has been performing as a comic he has surpassed to a comedic level that many comics have not achieved with years of experience. He is known as one of the only comics in such a early stage of his career to already headline and sell out shows. He has shared the stage with such comedic heavy weights as Carlos Mencia Pablo Francisco Jeff Garcia Tommy Chong Steve Trevino John Pinette and the list goes on and on. He recently was featured on L.A. TV’S hit show MAS COMEDY & also played the roll as himself on the TV show "La Esquina" which premiered May 9th 2007 on Mun2 Network starring multi platinum rap artist Pitbull.
