Yes, Bob Saget has starred in many successful television shows, including two of the most family-friendly shows network TV has ever produced ("Full House" and "Americas Funniest Home Videos") but he's also an out of his mind, Grammy-nominated standup comedian for over thirty years. From his his HBO special "That Ain't Right" to his scene-stealing cameos in "Entourage," and "The Aristocrats," it's always effective as Saget embraces his dark side.
In 1996 he directed the TV movie “For Hope” and in 1998 he directed the Norm MacDonald comedy, “Dirty Work.” In theater, he starred in the off-Broadway play “Privilege,” by Paul Weitz and “The Drowsy Chaperone” on Broadway in 2007. Also In 2007 came the hugely successful DVD release of "Farce of the Penguins," and then came the hit NBC quiz show "1 VS 100," In 2008, "The Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget" premiered to the second highest ratings of all TV that night.
Bob was seen reprising the role of "Himself" on HBO's hit series "Entourage" and he starred in his own documentary comedy series for A&E entitled, "Strange Days with Bob Saget," an exploration of unusual subcultures in America.
Last year Bob continued touring, playing to sold our audiences in theaters and universities across North America. Two years back, he hosted the Montreal Comedy Festival's first live 90 minute JFL XXX TV show which continues to air across Canada on The Movie Network. Bob just completed his first fun theatre tour in Australia.
His newest one-hour stand-up special, That's What I'm Talkin About, was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. The special premiered on Showtime in May 2013 and is now available as a CD, DVD and download, and on Netflix.
In April this year, Bob's book came out: "DIRTY DADDY - The Chronicles of a Family Man Turned Filthy Comedian," for It Books, an imprint of HarperCollins. It is now available everywhere in hardcover or iBook or Kindle, as an audio book either on CD's or downloads, recorded by Bob himself.
