Born and raised in the suburbs of Lake Forest Park, WA, Adam got into comedy at an early age, impersonating friends, teachers, and Ace Ventura.
In High School, Adam ran his high school’s morning television news program. When it began, it was your basic morning news program. Then Adam and a few friends took it over, and slowly turned it into a weekly sketch show that somehow included the news. Airing every Friday morning for 10 minutes, it was a hit amongst the entire school. Except for teachers that wanted kids to learn and thought they were wasting class time with “immature sillies.” To this day, he doesn’t know what that means.
In 2001, Adam journeyed to Los Angeles, where he was accepted into the BFA acting conservatory at USC. His junior year he studied abroad in London at the British American Drama Academy, where he did Shakespeare, fencing, and drinking.
Since then, Adam has been seen guest starring on Two Broke Girls, WORKAHOLICS, Arrested Development,According to Jim, Adult Swim’s NTSF:SD:SUV, Kevin Hart's Real House Husbands of Hollywood, HBO's Silicon Valley, Comedy Central's @Midnight, Chelsea Lately, and writing for MTV’s PUNKD, and as the bad guy opposite Sandra Bullock & Melissa McCarthy in Paul Feig’s buddy cop comedy “The Heat.” His standup has been featured on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, AXS Gotham Live, Adam Devine's House Party, and he's a regular on The Adam Carolla podcast. Adam also co-hosts the popular ABOUT LAST NIGHT podcast with comedian Brad Williams, and can be seen in the upcoming Paul Feig comedy SPY, starring Melissa McCarthy & Jason Statham. J Chris Newberg is funny. Ask him. He will disagree, but in a way that is probably humorous. He has performed on America’s Got Talent, but lost to dancers that sparkle. He has also been on the Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live & Comedy Central. He has toured nationally in arenas with Dane Cook, Internationally in Stadiums with Russell Peters and written songs for American Idol. He is in fact the funniest person that you have never heard of. Yet. Cedric The Entertainer agrees saying, “He has got an odd sense of humor and he is unique in his point of view. His quirkiness and his own kind of demeanor are things that can go a long way in this business. Talented folks will see it, and the industry will see it.” J Chris Newberg also writes jokes, a lot of them. Some of your favorite comedians have used his jokes on SNL, Late Night With David Letterman, Chelsea Lately and The Conan O’Brien show. J Chris Newberg recently finished being lead writer on Idiotest for GSN and is currently writing at E! He doesn’t ask you to think. He’ll do that for you. Just watch and listen and then tweet your friends and pretend you wrote it.
